Coney Island continues to struggle to return to normalcy after Sandy, reports AdaptNY news partner Gotham Gazette. While the community’s entertainment district is “open for business,” some neighborhood services such as libraries and medical clinics are still out of action, parks and playgrounds remain fenced off and public housing is under scaffolding. Of particular worry to some are a series of sinkholes that have opened up around the area. But state relief may be on the way through Gov. Cuomo’s new “Storm Communities” program.
